Craig Bellamy and Joey Barton were involved in a bust-up following Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over QPR this weekend, according to The Daily Mail.
Bellamy and Barton exchanged words on the field towards the end of the game, but exchanged even more foul-mouthed discussion in the tunnel after the match. The pair confronted each other in the Anfield tunnel and traded explicit rants before being separated and ushered into their respective dressing rooms. The Liverpool striker is known for being a fiery character and was booked quickly when he came on for the Reds in the second half.

Barton is equally as fiery and the Liverpool striker and QPR captain were at each other’s throats, according to eyewitnesses. The Football Association will wait on referee Lee Mason’s report before deciding whether or not to take further action. With no physical violence involved, both Bellamy and Barton should not face a sanction.
An eyewitness told the newspaper: ‘It was more words than anything else, like handbags at 10 paces. Let’s just say some of the language they used was only for the ears of the working man. Neither player would have voluntarily backed down. There was a bit of a giggle in the tunnel afterwards given which players were involved’.
