Kenny Dalglish has praised Liverpool for a "fantastic" performance against Queens Park Rangers in a game the hosts won 1-0.
While the Reds were only able to breach the newly promoted side’s defence once, that was down in large part to the brilliance of Czech goalkeeper Radek Cerny.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper was outstanding between the sticks for QPR and allowed his side to remain in the game, with Liverpool even needing to call upon Jose Reina as Neil Warnock’s team bombarded the hosts with a series of corners as the clock ticked down.
And it proved that one goal, from Luis Suarez after 47 minutes, was enough to send Dalglish home happy.
"It was an excellent performance", beamed the Liverpool manager.
"We had lots of chances and got one, they never got any.
"One is enough when the others don’t get an opportunity and the players showed great courage and belief in what they are doing to continue doing what they were doing well, which was pass and move and creating chances.
"Some of the football we played in the first half was brilliant and I think we played better before we scored that after it.
"But even then we still created a few [chances]."
